Accessing 4Matrix from Outside School

There are several ways in which this can be achieved, and we have put together a document to help users decide on which option is best for their school.

Import Fix

There is a fix available for an error which occurs when attempting to import data via a spreadsheet into an existing series in which results or custom field data has already been imported.

 User cannot see networked printers and/or correct file directories

Solution

This is a known issue with older versions of 4Matrix (specifically Launcher.exe). If updates are run as an Admin user, it logs in using the that same admin account that is specified in the 4Matrix Network Manager to install updates. As a quick fix, restarting 4Matrix should resolve this.

In order to resolve the issue properly we recommend installing the latest version of 4Matrix by re-installing the 4Matrix Network Manager, which in turn will generate the latest client msi. Please refer to the attached PDF for more information on this process. Alternatively, you can download the msi only from the downloads page at www.4matrix.com - the link is the last paragraph on that page.

For more information on updating the Network Manager, please go to www.4matrix.com/resources, scroll to the bottom of the page and refer to the 'Technical Help' links section. It shouldn't take longer than 20 minutes to update the Network Manager, depending on your internet speed, and the client can then be redeployed using Group Policy.
