4Matrix Cloud updated with 2024 Provisional Attainment 8 and EBacc VA Targets

All series from 2023-4 onwards using the 'Default' settings for performance measures will use the new P8 and EBacc targets automatically. However, you must use the 'Recalculate' function to force all Progress 8 and EBacc VA scores to update. Series that are not using the 'Default' settings may require additional actions if you need them to use the 2024 targets; please see below.

1. Summary of changes

The DfE released the 2024 provisional national data on 05/12/2024. The Attainment 8 targets and EBacc VA targets have been added to 4Matrix Cloud centrally by the 4Matrix team. They can now be used for the Year 11 that completed their studies in summer 2024, and with future cohorts (that have key stage 2 Scaled Scores).

2. Using the Recalculate function

• Go to Admin > Series. 
• Select all series (using the select box to the top-left of the main grid)
• Go to Bulk Actions > Recalculate

3. How to view/confirm calculation settings

You only need to read this section if you have set any series to NOT use the 'Default' setting (e.g. if you have set a series to use 2024 Share & Compare estimates) and you would like to change your series to use the latest national data instead.

• Open the Press Release tool.
• Refer to the key at the top of the display.
• Make a note of the selected AC year and Series name if it does not say '2024 Provisional Estimates'.
• You can easily change series from here and see what each series is referring to for the P8 and EBacc Measures. 

4. Making manual changes

For any series not using 2024 P8 and/or EBacc targets that you would like to change:

• Go to the Series tool and click a series name to open it.
• In the screen that opens, select Edit from the panel on the left.
• In the pop-up, manually change the P8 Measure Value field to 'Use Default'.
• In the pop-up, manually change the EBacc Measure Value field to 'Use Default'.
• Select Update and the pop-up will close.
• Now choose Actions (top-right) and Recalculate.
• Note: if you change these settings for multiple series, you can go back to the main Series screen and use the Bulk Actions > Recalculate option to help save time.
