CYPMD - June 2024 Check Your Performance Measures Data

What is the June Checking Exercise?

Every year the DfE run an exercise for schools to check that the cohort in their published results data is based on is correct.  It gives schools the chance to view, and in some cases request changes to, the pupil data that will feed into your performance tables for Year 11.

The June Checking Exercise is now hosted by the DfE through the DfE Secure Access website  and is accessed via the 'Check Your Performance Measures Data’ (CYPMD) service). Anyone with a current DfE Secure Access Sign-in can access this exercise and no further permissions are required. If you need to create a DfE sign-in account for yourself or others, details on how to create an account can be found here: DfE Sign-in (education.gov.uk) and you can do this now before the exercise opens.

When does it open and close?

It opens at 9.30am on Monday 24th June, and closes at 5.00pm on 5th July.

Which pupils are included for my school?

Pupils who are in NCY11 in the January census 2024 are automatically included for your school, along with any relevant 'add back' pupils who have not previously been included.

Therefore, you will no longer be able to:

  • Add a pupil, or
  • Remove a pupil using the following categories:
    • Dual registration
    • Moved schools.

Important points to note this year

A full school return by 5pm on 5th July is required and once complete, no further changes can be made. Anyone with a DfE Secure Access Sign-in login can do this so be sure to nominate someone in your school/college.

  • Characteristic amendment requests are no longer available.
  • ‘Child Missing Education’ was previously known as ‘Pupil Missing in Education’.
  • No option or need to check your KS2 data as the DfE state this was previously validated by KS2 schools during the KS2 data checking exercises. Please ensure your data is from GIAP and not your MIS so you have DfE validated KS2 data in 4Matrix.
  • Students who have English as a second language and joined the school from abroad in the last 3 years can be removed. Previously it was 2 years.
