Accessing 4Matrix from Outside School

There are several ways in which this can be achieved, and we have put together a document to help users decide on which option is best for their school.

In-light of the current situation, we are extending the free-use period of 4Matrix Infinity for all schools until September 2020.


 Error: Checking for updates failed

Solution

This error can occur for several reasons. It can generally be resolved by ticking the 'Auto detect settings' box and then 'Try Again'.

If the error persists, please check that the proxy settings in the 4Matrix Network Manager match with those shown on a client in Internet Explorer > Options. If this appears to be correct and it continues to fail, you can try overwriting the proxy address in the Network Manager with AUTO (leave the port blank).

We have also received reports from a handful of schools that their IP address is blocked by our web-host, Krystal (www.krystal.co.uk), in which case it may also be worth checking this with them as a final resort.
