4Matrix Cloud, our fully web-based and hosted solution, will supersede the legacy 4Matrix Desktop and Infinity platforms in 2025. This will provide a complete analytics solution for PC, Mac and tablet users, and we can't wait to share it with you all.
Onboarding
To date, onboarding has been completed on an invitation-only basis. From now, schools can request to be upgraded to 4Matrix Cloud by logging a ticket via our support portal.
In the case of Multi Academy Trusts, we aim to onboard all schools in the trust on the same date. We are also working with several MATs where the rollout is being coordinated with central trust staff.
Rollout and Development
As at October 2025, more than 300 schools are actively using 4Matrix Cloud.
Our development team are fully focussed on the Cloud platform, with all new features going straight to this. The first phase of key stage 5 tools have now been released, giving schools access to tools including the Press Release, Course Summary, Value Added, and more.
Key Features
There are many key features that set 4Matrix Cloud apart from other approaches, including:
- MIS data import tools (Arbor & Bromcom available now; SIMS expected Christmas 2025)
- Pupil and staff photos visible within tools
- Comparison of multiple data series to track cohort and subject performance over time
- Dynamic compound filtering (e.g., combinations of classes, custom groups, demographics)
- Subject Value Added based on national subject transition matrices
- Pre-programmed qualification settings aligned with DfE reporting (grades, points, KPI flags e.g. handling in Progress 8)
- GIAP import for Scaled Scores and KS4 APS; used for progress measures at KS4 & KS5
- Single Sign-On (Microsoft & Google)
- Multi-tab browsing for greater flexibility
- Quick links feature, providing text-based prompts for users to access key figures and tools
Costs
The good news is that there will be no cost to existing 4Matrix customers to upgrade to 4Matrix Cloud during their current licence period i.e. the active licence for Desktop will transfer to the new Cloud platform. There will be nothing further to pay until the licence is due for renewal. This policy applies to renewals taking place up to and including 31/08/2026.
